If you've made it to this part of my website, you must be interested in the person behind the camera. So, here I am—Isabel, or Izzy—the founder and owner of Steady&Sway.

It's been a long journey to get where I am now, but I'm so grateful it's taken me here.

I was born and raised in Germany, moved to Maryland, went back to Germany, randomly moved to Puerto Rico, and then moved to Maryland again. Shewww! That's a lot of moving, but now I am happy to have settled in Maryland (for now :) I love my current home, and just like any other millennial, I'm really into house plants, middle obsessed with my cat, yoga, and hiking.

My love for photography actually started during my previous profession as an art conservator. I bought my first professional camera to document works of art during the conservation and restoration process. Over time, I realized that what I loved most was not just preserving art but capturing moments—those fleeting, honest emotions that tell a story all on their own.

I'm an introvert, which doesn't make me any less outgoing, but it means I find joy in being present, soaking in the moment without needing to be the center of attention. And that's exactly how I approach your wedding day. It’s never about me—it’s about you, your partner, and the beautiful, unscripted moments that unfold. My goal is to quietly and intentionally document your day as it happens, so you can relive it exactly as you felt it.
