Intimate Wedding at Tusculum Farm

Updated: Oct 13, 2021

Let's start this post by summarizing Ilana and Ben's intimate Jewish wedding in one sentence: This wedding was a dream come true for us. I mean, we love intimate weddings, and this one was especially beautiful. From the venue to the florals, the traditions, the music, the wonderful couple, this wedding had it all.

Here are some of our favorite moments from Ilana and Ben's Tusculum Farm wedding:

  1. Ilana and ben turned their wedding into a fun and relaxing retreat at Tusculum Farm in Laytonsville, Maryland. This was our second time shooting at this gorgeous venue and we were beyond excited to be back! If you're a fan of historic farm houses and picturesque views, make sure to check out this location.

  2. They got married under a beautiful chuppah that Ilana hand painted. Their ceremony felt traditional with a twist, while set in whimsical garden ambiance, they still included many Jewish traditions which made their wedding unique and special.

  3. The ketubah signing was a beautiful tradition for us to be part of. Check out the highlight film to see the highlights and hear some of the original audio from that moment.

  4. To continue with the twist: The High and Wides accompanied the afternoon and evening happenings with a mixture of relaxing, fun and definitely danceable bluegrass tunes. Even though we didn't know these guys before, we're definitely fans now! Always trying to make our videos as personal as possible, we decided to use live recordings from the wedding as soundtracks for the video teaser and highlight film.

  5. Ilana's bouquet, the chuppah decoration as well as the center pieces for the reception by Lucky Penny Floral were absolutely perfect for this romantic outdoor summer garden wedding. I mean, wildflowers! Does it get much better than that?

  6. Since this was a celebration with only the closest friends and family, everyone enjoyed their dinner together at the same table. The mellow summer night allowed for a dinner under the stars, at a beautifully decorated table.

  7. The endless locations to shoot at! Seriously, Tusculum Farm offers 500 acres, we could have spent all day there and still find new spots.

  8. After an amazing sunset and golden hour, the most amazing super moon, the last one of the year 2021, rose and just rounded up this whole experience.
